Tecnolight Lumina Surface Cylinder LED Downlight 20W-35W

The Tecnolight Lumina Surface is a surface mounted cylinder LED downlight in aluminium, offered in 20W and 35W. It is a tall barrel-form ceiling downlight for reception areas, restaurants, showrooms and double-height residential spaces where the fitting is meant to be seen rather than hidden. A 36 degree beam gives a tight, controlled pool of light, and the fixture is available in five colour temperatures from 2700K warm white through to 6000K cool daylight.

Does the Lumina Surface need a ceiling cutout?

No. This is a surface mounted luminaire, so there is no aperture to cut and no ceiling void needed. The cylinder bolts onto the finished ceiling via its base plate and the supply cable enters through a small hole behind it. Because the body stands 200mm to 258mm proud of the ceiling, check your headroom and sightlines before you fix positions. It is a hardwired mains fitting and must be wired by a qualified electrician.

• Do I have to cut the ceiling?
  No. The Lumina Surface mounts onto the face of the ceiling and needs no cutout or void. Only a small cable entry hole is required.
• How is this different from the Lumina Surface Adj?
  This model, family reference 94280.000, is a fixed 36 degree cylinder in 20W and 35W. The Lumina Surface Adj, family reference 92920.000, is a retractable version in 10W, 20W and 30W whose optic recesses into the body. They are different fittings despite the shared name.
• How do I choose colour temperature and finish?
  Colour temperature is a variant on this page — pick 2700K, 3000K, 4000K, 5000K or 6000K. Matt black and matt white body finishes are made to order rather than stocked, so specify the finish you want when you place the order.
• Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
  No. This model is IP20, which means dry indoor locations only. For damp or covered outdoor ceilings choose an IP44 or higher fitting.
• Is it dimmable?
  Tecnolight supplies it with either on/off or dimming control. Dimming is a build option, so confirm the protocol required when ordering.
