Cable clips hold a cable neatly against a surface so it does not sag, snag or get walked on. The common types are nail-in clips, which are tapped into masonry or timber, adhesive-backed clips for finished surfaces, and screw-fix saddles for heavier cables. Clips are sized to the cable rather than being universal: too tight and the clip pinches the sheath, too loose and the cable slides. Spacing matters as well — clips placed at regular intervals keep a run straight and take the weight off connections at each end.
