How is panel wire different from building wire?
Both are single-core PVC insulated conductors of the same nominal sizes; the difference is how the copper inside is made up. Building wire uses fewer, thicker strands and is stiff enough to push through a long conduit. Panel wire is fine-stranded — many thin strands instead of a few thick ones — so it turns tight corners inside an enclosure, sits flat in wiring duct, and survives a door hinge loop being opened and closed for years without the conductor fatiguing.
Which cross-section do I need?
Control and signalling wiring uses the smallest sizes; power wiring inside the panel steps up with the rating of the device it feeds; the largest sizes are for tails and incoming connections. Size against the actual current, the protective device ahead of it and the temperature inside the enclosure — a packed panel in a UAE plant room runs hot, and heat reduces what every conductor in it can carry. A qualified electrician or panel builder should confirm the final selection.
