RCBOs

Shop RCBOs for UAE distribution boards — ABB DSE201 M single-pole-plus-neutral devices from 10A to 32A. An RCBO puts the overload and short-circuit protection of an MCB and the earth-leakage protection of an RCD into one module, so a single circuit gets both.

Why choose an RCBO over a shared RCCB?

Where one RCCB covers a whole bank of circuits, an earth fault anywhere on that bank takes out every circuit behind it — lights, sockets, fridge and all. Give each circuit its own RCBO and the fault disconnects only the circuit that caused it. That matters in villas with outdoor sockets, water features and pool equipment, and on any board feeding a tenanted or critical load.

30mA or 100mA?

The milliamp figure is the earth-leakage current at which the device disconnects. 30mA is the sensitivity associated with protecting people, and it is normally what is wanted on socket, bathroom and outdoor circuits. 100mA is a coarser setting, used where the concern is fire protection or where sensitive equipment causes nuisance tripping at 30mA. Both are stocked across the range.

What do the ampere figure and the C mean?

The ampere rating — 10, 16, 20 or 32 — follows the cable of the circuit, not the appliance plugged into it. The C is the trip curve, tolerant of the brief inrush drawn by motors and lighting banks.

Check the device suits your board's busbar arrangement, and have a licensed electrician confirm the selection against the DB schedule.
