FAQ
-
Will this fit my fixture?
If your existing tube is a G5-base T5 tube around 288mm, this is a direct swap.
-
What's the difference between the 640 and 765 colour codes?
640 is a 4000K Cool White with roughly 385 lm output; 765 is a Cool Daylight tone with roughly 330 lm output and a shorter rated life. Choose 640 for general task lighting and 765 where a whiter/cooler tone is preferred.
-
Is this suitable for retail display lighting where colour accuracy matters?
This is Osram's Basic range with CRI ≥60, lower than the premium Lumilux T5 range (CRI ≥80). For colour-critical display or retail lighting, a Lumilux T5 tube is the better match.
-
Does this need a starter?
Yes, on conventional ballast fittings a compatible starter is required — most existing T5 starters will work if the old tube was also fluorescent.
