Do smart bulbs work without WiFi?
Not for app or voice control. This bulb joins your home WiFi directly, so colour changes, scenes and schedules all need the network. If the WiFi drops out the bulb still works as an ordinary lamp from the wall switch and holds its last setting.

Do smart bulbs use electricity when they are off?
A very small amount, yes. The bulb stays powered so it can listen for the next command, which is what lets you switch it on from your phone. The standby draw is a fraction of a watt and negligible against the 86W you save versus the 100W lamp it replaces.

How does it work with my existing wall switch?
Leave the wall switch on and control the bulb from the app or by voice. If someone flips the wall switch off the bulb loses power and drops off the network until it is switched back on — which is why smart bulbs suit lamps and fittings that stay permanently switched on at the wall.

Will it fit my lamp?
It has a standard E27 screw base and a Classic A75 body, 75 mm across and 141.5 mm long. That is a little larger than a common A60 bulb, so check the clearance inside a small enclosed shade or a tight pendant before ordering.

Can I use it outdoors?
