Hager CCC217J Onekonekt RCCB 16A 2-Pole 10mA Type AC — ELCB

The Hager Onekonekt RCCB (ELCB) 16A 2-Pole 10mA – CCC217J provides advanced, high-sensitivity earth-leakage protection for residential, commercial, and light industrial applications. Designed to disconnect the circuit the instant leakage current is detected, this RCCB is built for locations where an extra margin of shock protection is needed, beyond the standard 30mA threshold.

FAQ

  • What's the difference between an MCB and an RCCB/RCD?
An MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker) protects a circuit against overload and short-circuit faults. An RCCB (Residual Current Circuit Breaker), also known as an ELCB, continuously monitors for earth leakage current and disconnects the supply if current is escaping to earth – protecting against electric shock and fire in a way an MCB cannot.
  • What does the 10mA sensitivity rating mean, and why is it so low?
10mA is a specialist high-sensitivity rating, well below the standard 30mA personnel-protection threshold. RCCBs at this sensitivity are typically specified for locations needing an extra safety margin – such as medical equipment supplies, bathrooms/wet areas, swimming pools, or sensitive electronic loads – where standard 30mA protection is not considered enough. Note: the manufacturer datasheet confirms the 10mA rating itself but does not name a specific end-use; the examples above reflect standard industry practice for this sensitivity class.
  • How many poles do I need for this circuit?
This is a 2-pole (2P) device switching both line and neutral, suited to single-phase circuits. Three-phase circuits require a 4-pole equivalent.
  • Can I install this myself?
No. This is a distribution-board-mounted device and must be installed and connected by a licensed electrician in accordance with UAE wiring regulations.
  • What is Onekonekt?
Onekonekt is Hager's unified range of modular protection devices – MCBs, RCCBs, RCBOs, and main switches – designed to fit a common single- or three-phase busbar system with BIconnect terminals, so devices can be wired from cables or fed directly from the busbar, speeding up panel-building and reducing wiring errors.
