• Is this the plug or the connector (in-line socket)?
  This is the connector — the female in-line socket wired onto the end of a flexible cable (extension lead, cable reel, etc.), which mates with a matching male plug. Make sure you're also ordering the matching plug if you don't already have one.
• What does 2P+E mean?
  It's a 3-pin configuration: line, neutral, and earth — the standard arrangement for single-phase 230V industrial power connections.
• What does the IP44 rating mean, and is this suitable outdoors?
  IP44 means it's protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and splashing water from any direction — suitable for outdoor use and damp site conditions, but not for full immersion or direct jetting/hosing down. Check the enclosure is fitted correctly (cover closed, gland sealed) to maintain the rating in practice.
• Can I wire this myself?
