ABB S202-C25 2-Pole 25A 6kA Type C MCB

The ABB S202-C25 is a 2-pole, 25A Type C miniature circuit breaker with 6kA breaking capacity from the ABB System pro M compact S200 series. Combining a delayed thermal tripping mechanism for overload protection with an electromechanical mechanism for short circuit protection, it is current limiting and suited to single-phase and split load circuit protection across residential, commercial and industrial UAE installations.

Key Features

  • 2-pole 25A Type C MCB for single-phase circuit protection requiring double-pole isolation
  • 6kA breaking capacity matching standard UAE residential and commercial fault levels
  • Type C tripping characteristic suitable for resistive and lightly inductive loads
  • Bottom-fitting auxiliary contact compatibility, saving up to 50% panel space compared to side-mounted accessories
  • Genuine ABB S200 series quality — consistent performance and reliability

FAQ

  • What's the difference between an MCB and an RCCB/RCD?
An MCB (miniature circuit breaker) protects wiring and connected equipment against overload and short-circuit current. An RCCB/RCD protects against earth leakage by monitoring current imbalance. The two are complementary and are normally installed together in a distribution board.
  • What does the 6kA breaking capacity mean?
6kA is the maximum fault current this MCB can safely interrupt without damage. It should be equal to or higher than the prospective fault current at its installation point in the board.
  • How many poles do I need?
A 2-pole (2P) breaker switches both live and neutral together, giving full isolation on a single-phase circuit.
  • Is this MCB compatible with other ABB DIN-rail distribution boards?
Yes — it's a standard DIN-rail (EN 60715) mounted breaker and clips directly into ABB's modular consumer units and distribution boards alongside other ABB DIN-rail devices.
  • Can I install this myself?
No. This is a distribution board component and must be installed and connected by a licensed electrician in accordance with UAE wiring regulations — it is not a DIY consumer product.
