ABB OT315E04 4-Pole 315A Switch Disconnector

The ABB OT315E04 is a 4-pole, front-operated, base-mounted switch-disconnector rated at 315A, designed for main switching and isolation duties in low voltage distribution systems. Manufactured to IEC 60947-3, it is suited to commercial and industrial panel applications across the UAE where reliable load-break and isolation performance is required in demanding ambient conditions.

Key Features

  • 4-pole switch-disconnector rated 315A for AC-21A, AC-22A and AC-23A duty across 380–690V systems
  • 65kA rated short-circuit making capacity (Icm) at 690V for robust fault-condition performance
  • 1000V rated insulation voltage and 12kV rated impulse withstand voltage for high dielectric strength
  • Mechanical durability of 16,000 operating cycles for long-term reliability in frequent-switching applications
  • Genuine ABB quality — manufactured in Finland to IEC 60947-3 standards

FAQ

  • Is this an MCB or an isolator?
It's an isolator (switch-disconnector), not an MCB. It has no overload or short-circuit protection — it only provides a manual on/off disconnect, and should be paired with separate MCBs or RCCBs for circuit protection.
  • Where should this isolator be installed?
Typically as the main incoming switch or a local isolation point ahead of the MCBs/RCCBs in a distribution board, so the whole board (or a section of it) can be isolated for maintenance without needing to trip individual breakers.
  • Can I install this myself?
No. This is trade-only distribution board equipment and must be installed and connected by a licensed electrician in accordance with local wiring regulations.
  • Can this isolator be used to switch a live circuit under load?
Isolators rated for on-load switching can do this within their utilisation category, but check the specific AC rating in the Technical Specifications table — an isolator is not a protective device and should not substitute for a circuit breaker.
